Looking forward to the day when audio related program coders get it that with a PC, there are hard and fast no nos. Developers could create their programs that make use of audio controls with the idea in mind of using the native run time routines of A-X without worrying about stepping on the overall functionality of the PC if there were such a thing.Īs it is, Volume² is sort of like any stand alone improvement to a natively Windows function that is audio related begins to step on overall functionality. I think we need something along the lines of AudioX like DirectX does the job for graphics. Kind of back in the Windows 98 days with audio controls I would say in the overall sense. Volume^2 isn't overkill, but there is just a tiny bit of run time over prioritization that can lead to mouse jumps, etc. That concern carries over a bit to this program, but not much. Testing equalizers, I noticed that audio related program coders don't seem to have learned to merge the functionality of their program into the run time functionality of a PC very well. Just one sort of overall concern with audio apps. Looks like this would be perfect for laptop/notebook users. I also have a RocketDock volume controller for the right side of the screen. I like the edges option even on my large screen for times when I have the mouse near the top of the screen. There is some serious meat to this volume control (now if I can just find a system wide equalizeer!).
